A Fresh Page

Pin It "Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past. ~Henry Ward Beecher

I had a rough time trying to find a way to properly thank all my friends and customers for helping me cross the threshold of my new door (see my first blog post; 07/17/11). The poem above is dedicated to you all of you. I am honored to be a small part in a huge community that carried me with love, wisdom, strength, and lots of inspiration in 2011 and as we move into 2012 together, with excitement, hope and a fresh enthusiasm - I am honored to hopefully continue in playing a greater part of inspiring your lives.

With the fresh page turning for 2012, I am excited to share that I spent my first day of January moving completely into The Vintage Bricoleur in Loomis, CA. As you know, The Vintage Bricoleur opened its doors December 1st and, I, being part of their new co-op team, committed to be there..with one exception - I would not be fully in until January 1st as I committed first to my family to take the rest of the year off from a retail storefront. With honored commitments, I am now fully moved in and very excited! In fact, my new business cards arrived today with my new address!!! I still have more to bring - dealer friends I am collaborating with and new thoughts that I am noodling. But for now, here are some shots of my space.

As a reminder, The Vintage Bricoleur is located inside the High Hand Fruit Sheds, 3750 Taylor Road, Loomis CA. Our winter hours are Tues-Sun 11-4. I look forward to running into you there.

A New Place to Play - Grand Opening, December 2nd!!!

I am so excited to share that I will be a part of a new venture!!!

On December 2nd, The Vintage Bricoleurs Home Store  will be opening a new store inside the packing sheds of High-Hand Nursery.  Within the store are a select few vendors that will be selling vintage items that so many of you friends love - beautiful and unique, farmhouse-style, french inspired, primitives, cottage, etc. designs - all the lovely vintage and antique home decor and jewelry created by amazing dealers that all of you seek out in your vintage living homes.

Of course, The Vintage Bricoleurs you all know from my Mes Amis Show.  The Sjodvedts along side The Zelders have been selling partners for years at many antique shows in the Central Coast and Northern California areas - Remnants of the Past, Alameda Antiques Faire and The Sacramento Antique Faire.  They are also vendors inside The Antique Trove (Roseville) and Scout Living (Downtown Sacramento).
Well, after alot of hardwork, they have finally completed their store within the well established and beautiful grounds of High-Hand Nursery in the town of Loomis California.  High Hand has been long-time Garden Center destination.  However, over the past several years, it has expanded its grounds to include shops within the packing sheds (The Tin Thimble, Flower Shop, The Candle Shop, and The Rug Shop), a Winery, The Conservatory (an excellent place to eat both indoors or out) and of course now The Vintage Bricoleur Vintage Store.

Joining The Bricoleurs on the team beside myself is a great friend Brenda Ackley of Sweet Silver.  Her spoon jewelry was a hit in the Roseville store .... she is back again, friends, and will be adding furniture to her repitoire.  In addition, Amanda from Blush will be in the store.  She has been in interior designer for several years and I was lucky to have worked with her on a wedding shoot she designed for Todays Bride magazine last year. Her amazing talent is currently a part of the Antique Trove as well but soon, she will be a part of The Vintage Bricoleur team.
Please come out on December 2nd and help all of us kick-off both the Grand Opening of the Shop as well as the High Hand Annual Light Display.  Festivities begin for the shop at 4:00pm and High-Hands Light Display begins at 6:00!  We are so looking forward to seeing you there!

Until then,
